As most of you kickboxing fans will know, i have held numerous Professional world titles in kickboxing, beating opponants such as Wayne and Trevor Ambrose, Cezare Podraza to name just a few. It took me 16 years of competing before I eventually got a shot at my first world title.
It all began when I started martial arts as a boy of 10, practising both in karate and boxing, being very competitive I done well at both. As the years progressed, I won Scottish karate titles and was undefeated as an amateur boxer. Politics began to take over the karate which led me to focus more on boxing. I represented Scotland in a Scotland-v-Ireland match and stopped a well respected, all Irish champion. After this match I found it extremely difficult in getting opponants to fight and to be honest I missed using my kicks.I went back to karate. by this time i was in my late teens and thot i knew it all and my karate instructor was old school I desided it was time to move on. I tried a number of different styles of martial arts including kung fu before starting up my own kickboxing club using the tecniques that I thot would be efective for fighting. After a few months training with some of my friends from other martial arts clubs and boxing club I entered my first fullcontact kickboxing tournement which I won, the rest is history. Iam self taught and self trained and if you are interested in what style iv used to win 7 world titles there will be DVD,s available.
